Who is behind the scenes?

It’s me, Taylor Blackwell! At The Blackwell Ranch Publishing House, I lead as a CEO who believes that creativity is as important as credibility, and that building a business should feel a little like storytelling—with plot twists, bold characters, and the occasional surprise ending.

I’m one of those women who believes there's always room at the table—for every voice, every vision, and every version of who you're becoming. Whether you're publishing your first book, building your brand, or dreaming up your next big move, our job is to help you turn those ideas into something real and remarkable.

If you peek below, you’ll see I wear a lot of hats—professor, designer, strategist, author, and proud chaos coordinator. So yes, I get how it feels to constantly prove you’re more than just a title or a role. Trust me, you're not too late, too much, or too new to do something incredible. That whole "You can be anything" thing? Barbie may have said it first, but around here—we echo it.

What Students are Saying

“Opened my eyes to curiosity and gave me a crazy amount of inspiration.”

“Hello!! I think the class is going great. The way the sprints are set up gives me so much time to go over the information and not feel like it is an overload. I think the lessons we are learning as well will help us in our main life and is actually interesting. I also love the bright personality you bring to the class and allowing us to learn a little more information about you. Thank you so much! Can't wait for the rest of the year!”
-Tara

“Best Class Ever
This has been one of my favorite classes I have taken at Missouri State!! I loved both the content of this course as well as how the class was setup. I loved that the sprints gave me more time to retain the information and write a well-written discussion post. I did not feel overwhelmed at all with this class...which I loved. I agree 100% with all the other responses on this discussion thread. This was a fantastic class and I wanted you to know how much we appreciate you! Thank you for such a great semester!”
Emma

“Hello, I hope this email finds you well! I will be graduating this coming December. I just wanted to tell you that you have been my favorite professor during my time at Missouri State. Although I don't always reply, your stories, pep talks, and advice on blackboard never fails to brighten my day. Missouri State really saved the best for last with you as my professor for my last semester. Thank you so much for everything!”
-Olivia

‘Thank you so much for your kindness and thoughtfulness of consideration in advance. I am learning so much more in your class based on your formatting and I cannot thank you enough for being so thoughtful in your emails and overall class structure. You are so well respected and talked about among your students! I appreciate your course and adore your teaching style! Thank you!’
-Claire

“I also wanted to email you and let you know how much your emails and words of encouragement have personally helped me out through this semester. As someone who's been struggling with all the obstacles and change that come with senior year, it's really nice to read those emails and know that everything's going to be okay and I'm exactly where I need to be, even if it doesn't always feel that way. Please let me know if you still can't see my responses and I would be happy to go in and try to redo them! Have a great evening!”
-Julia

“Creativity is something that can be used in all aspects of life.”

“Fantastic speaker, one of the best events OEI has done in my college experience.”

“In all honesty, this has been one of the most reasonable, exciting, comprehensible and desirable classes I have been in. The material is realistically applicable to my future career and the homework/quizzes are perfectly curated to challenge and measure my learning. I feel like I can take my time to actually attain and retain the information without it being forced or feel like I have to cut my learning short. Additionally, the two-week 'sprints' are absolutely perfect. I don’t think many professors understand why students take online classes, but you have perfectly handled on how to distribute information and your requirements for the class are perfectly reasonable. I'm always excited to see what we learn in the next sprint and I always appreciate your little pick-me-up announcements so I know that you hear your students and that you understand our struggles (or that you are at least taking an attempt to understand). I'm sure that other classmates, among just me, feel the same exact way. So, I personally just want to say thank you for such a great semester so far. I wish you taught more of my required classes or that I could’ve taken a physical class to get to know you as a professor more! You are doing such a great job and please just know if students aren’t emailing or saying anything to you about the material or how you teach the class, it means that we are happy/content. This semester hasn’t been the easiest as I’m preparing for a move across the country along with a new job and a new house, but you’ve made the best out of this course and I appreciate it so much. So once again, thank you so much!”
-Jillian

“I just wanted to let you know I mentioned you in the exit survey I'm filling out to graduate. It has an area to let the university know if there's anyone that was to help in your success at the university. I just wanted to say that you have an amazing setup for the course navigation on blackboard, and it makes it very beneficial to learn and focus on what it is we are learning! I have a different class with some of the people currently in my online section with you and other people are saying the same things! So, I just wanted to reach out and thank you and I appreciate what you are doing for us!”
-Brock

“My name is Haley and I am in your ITC 429-890 course. I know the semester is not over yet, but I just wanted to say thank you so much for being so helpful this semester. You make it very evident that you care about all of us as your students, even though our class is online. Even when I had a family emergency earlier in the semester you were willing to work with me and I appreciated your kindness. As a senior I appreciated and looked forward to your emails throughout the semester, so I just wanted to say thank you for being so kind. I really enjoyed your class this semester!”
